Having problems with the submit button!!

When I added a custom submit button and set it as a submit button, it does not show form state options on the right bar. So what happens when i am publish the form, it does not change the states accordingly to loading, success or error. I am not sure how to do that. However, when I moved everything into the standard framer form builder and set it as a submit button it works perfectly!! But the problem is I need to use multi step form. Does someone have any idea about this?
