Smart Gallery: Serve smaller thumbnails and responsive product images

Smart Gallery should load small images for thumbnails, size the main photo to the shopper’s screen, and fetch the full-resolution original when someone opens the zoom view.

On our product page, a thumbnail displayed at just 44 × 44 pixels downloads a 2048 × 2048 image. Several of those files are 718–923 KB each.

Loading the right size for each view would save mobile shoppers several megabytes while keeping product details sharp when they zoom in.
